Translation cost and lead time is the main brake on selling rights into smaller European markets. A great many titles never travel simply because the arithmetic does not work.

The solution

Nuanxed pairs machine translation with professional linguist post-editing, compressing a 300-page translation to roughly three months, and to two or three weeks for later books in an established series.

What is distinctive

It markets the human rather than the automation – the translator remains accountable for style and voice. The model is genuinely contested within the European translation community, which is part of why it belongs in a shared knowledge base rather than in a press release.

Evidence

• Founded 2021 in Stockholm, with an office in Ghent.
• In an interview with Publishers Weekly the company reported roughly 50 translations a month, some 800 translations for around 150 authors, across 69 language combinations.
