Who we are
Chaptrly.eu is an initiative of Renew the Book, part of the Groep Algemene Uitgevers GAU, the Dutch Publishing Association, Hobaostraat 8, 1101 CZ Amsterdam. This privacy statement explains what personal data we collect through chaptrly.eu, why, and what rights you have.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us when you register interest, submit an innovation, or contact us: name, organisation, country, email address, and the content of your message.
- Technical data collected automatically when you visit the site, such as browser type and pages viewed.
Cookies
Chaptrly.eu does not place any cookies on your device – not for analytics, advertising, or any other purpose. Because no cookies are used, no cookie consent banner is shown; none is needed.
Why we process it
- To respond to enquiries and process membership or submission requests.
- To send the Chaptrly.eu newsletter, only to people who have opted in.
- To keep the site secure and to understand how it is used, in order to improve it.
Legal basis
We process your data on the basis of your consent (for the newsletter and optional cookies), and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and operating the platform. Where we ask you to submit an innovation as a member, processing is also based on the agreement between your organisation and Chaptrly.eu.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We may share it with service providers who facilitate the platform on our behalf, such as our hosting provider and email tool (Hostnet), under agreements that oblige them to protect your data. We may also share the content of published innovation entries publicly, since that is the purpose of a submission.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and membership data for as long as needed to manage the relationship, and no longer than 10 years after the last contact, unless the law requires otherwise. Published innovation entries remain public for as long as it is relevant and they are part of the platform’s record.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you can ask to see, correct, or delete your personal data, ask us to limit how we use it, object to certain processing, or ask for your data in a portable format. You can also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
